As part of the Provincial Action Plan of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, science and technology activities were organized in Gürpınar under the coordination of the Van Provincial Directorate of Industry and Technology and in cooperation with Van Technopark, bringing together students from Bölmeçalı Primary School and Gürpınar Borsa İstanbul Girls’ Regional Boarding Secondary School.
The activities aimed to introduce children and young people to science and technology at an early age, encourage their scientific curiosity, strengthen their innovative thinking skills, and provide them with opportunities to experience different technologies through hands-on learning.
Science and Technology Meet Students
As part of the program, the team first met with students at Bölmeçalı Primary School. Students had the opportunity to experience virtual reality (VR) applications, explore digital technologies, and discover basic scientific and technological principles through electronic experiment kits in an engaging and interactive learning environment.
The next stop on the science and technology journey was Gürpınar Borsa İstanbul Girls’ Regional Boarding Secondary School. Students participated in interactive activities using VR applications and electronic experiment kits, allowing them to experience technology through practical learning.
The activities were designed to stimulate scientific curiosity, encourage research and exploration, increase awareness of technology, and strengthen innovative thinking skills.
With enthusiastic participation from the students, the activities provided an engaging learning environment where scientific knowledge was explored not only through theoretical explanations but also through practical and experience-based applications.
TÜBİTAK Publications Presented to Students
At the end of the activities held at both schools, TÜBİTAK publications were presented to the students to further encourage their scientific curiosity and enthusiasm for research and discovery.
By providing students with scientific publications, the initiative aimed to sustain the interest in learning and exploration generated during the activities and encourage children and young people to engage more closely with scientific resources.
Inspiring the Scientists, Engineers, and Technology Developers of the Future
As Van Technopark, we attach great importance to introducing children and young people to science, technology, R&D, innovation, and creative thinking from an early age.
We believe that encouraging young people not only to use technology but also to become individuals who question, research, explore, experiment, develop, and create is essential for building a strong technology and innovation ecosystem.
In this context, we consider school-based science and technology activities valuable for increasing students’ awareness of science and technology, introducing them to future career opportunities, and fostering a culture of scientific thinking from an early age.
In cooperation with our partner institutions, Van Technopark will continue to contribute to initiatives that inspire the scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and technology developers of the future.
